At a young age, Dr. Hinsch knew he wanted to be a veterinarian. He began his journey working at a small animal hospital in Ohio, cleaning cages. He went on to complete his undergraduate work at Cornell University in upstate New York and received his DVM degree from the University of Missouri.
The pursuit of knowledge has always been the mainstay of Dr. Hinsch's veterinary career. His philosophy is simply, "the more knowledge you possess, the better you will be at whatever you choose to do in life". In his case, his chosen area of expertise is veterinary medicine and he has continued to apply that philosophy for over 40 years. After graduating veterinary school, he went on to win the American Animal Hospital Association EXCELL Award for advanced knowledge in veterinary medicine. Seeking further knowledge and education, he then embarked on a program of study and rigorous examination to become a Board Certified Small Animal Veterinarian, one of only a handful of veterinarians in the country to receive this prestigious degree. By completing this course of study, he earned the title of Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
Dr. Hinsch also has been an active participant in the American Animal Hospital Association, serving as an Area Director for the Southwestern United States. American Animal Hospital Association hospitals strive for excellence in veterinary medicine and are subject to a rigorous inspection on a regular basis.
Dr. Hinsch also served on the advisory board of Pima Animal Control. There, he lobbied for the humane treatment of abandoned dogs and cats and helped develop a program for humane treatment of abandoned pets.
